Carolina Martinez

Carolina joined the board of the Fund for Nonviolence in 2006 and serves on the Latin America Program, Lifting Voices of Resistance Program and Personnel Committees. She brings a strong commitment to conflict resolution and international human rights movement building. Carolina began her social justice work as a teacher and coordinator of the Spanish for Spanish Speakers Program at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC). She also taught a core course, Values and Change in a Diverse Society, at UCSC’s Oakes College. Carolina continues to engage in participatory education as a Spanish Language instructor and Gay/Straight Alliance Club moderator at Georgiana Bruce Kirby Preparatory School. Carolina studied internationally at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and holds a B.A. in Latin American Studies and an M.A. in Education, both from UCSC.
