Mona Cadena

Mona is the Director of Campaigns and Organizing at Equal Justice USA (EJUSA) where she manages EJUSA’s national campaigns, leads their internal racial equity project and is the key strategist supporting state campaigns working on state-level policy change. Prior to working with EJUSA, Mona was on the staff of Amnesty International for 10 years, starting as a field organizer and ultimately working as a Deputy Regional Director. At Amnesty her work focused on human rights issues in the US and abroad, including women’s human rights, anti-torture campaigns, supporting prisoners of conscience, and developing programs for human rights defenders in the Americas. During the 1998 US national elections, Mona raised funds for Emily’s List, NARAL, DNC and progressive political organizations to support Congressional and Senate candidates.
